How are tents printed?

Tents and tarpaulins can be printed in different ways. The type of printing mainly depends on the type of fabric being printed on and the quantities to be printed.

Don't worry, the printing technique is something we analyse and determine for our customers. Other than that, you don't have to worry about it.

1. Digital printing: This method uses printers that print the design directly onto the tent canvas. Digital printing is suitable for complex designs with many colours and details. It is cost-effective for smaller runs and offers quick results.

2. Sublimation printing: This method is often used for polyester tent fabric. During the printing process, a special sublimation paper is printed with ink and then the ink is transferred from the paper to the tent fabric using heat and pressure. Sublimation printing offers vibrant colours and long-lasting results.

3. Transfer printing: In this method, the design is first printed on transfer paper and then transferred to the tent canvas using heat. It is a good option for detailed designs and is suitable for a variety of materials. The durability is similar to that of screen printing (see below).

4. UV printing: This technology uses ultraviolet light to dry ink directly on the tent fabric. The result is a durable and scratch-resistant print. UV printing is suitable for various materials and ensures bright colours. This type of printing technique is used, for example, on PVC tarpaulins.

5. Screen printing: This is a commonly used method for printing tent tarpaulins. Ink is printed onto the canvas through a fine mesh (the screen). Each colour requires a separate screen, so for designs with many colours and complex shapes, screen printing is usually more expensive. However, screen printing ensures long-lasting and vibrant results. This printing technique is mainly used for larger print runs.
